It was an absolute privilege to attend and sponsor the Law Society’s AML and Financial Crime Conference today, which took place at the Park Plaza Victoria Hotel in London. The event was packed with insightful conversations, inspirational keynote speeches from industry leaders and the opportunity to network and connect with legal experts and innovators from across the legal and technology sectors.
The event kicked off with a few insights from Amy Bell who is the Law Society’s chairperson for the economic crime task force. She detailed the plan for the day and also discussed her role and the importance of an event like this that unites the legal and technology sectors who all have the same objective.
Throughout the day, a series of plenaries and workshops took place covering a vast array of topics including updates from the Solicitors Regulation Authority, SAR reporting, source of funds and source of wealth, risk assessments and client matters. It was certainly an event packed with engagement and knowledge and we certainly have taken plenty away from what was very much a day of learning.
In addition to this, we had the pleasure of listening to people’s stories and discussing their journeys and experiences. Building brand new connections and partnerships that we are very excited to build in the future. It was also a pleasure to see some familiar faces as some of our amazing clients were also at the event, catching up with them and maintaining strong relationships.
We also had the opportunity to maintain good relationships with some of our amazing partners who also attended the event, discussing exciting opportunities moving forward about working collaboratively to elevate the legal sector. It is these partnerships that benefit all, and we are determined to ensure all businesses within the legal, property and finance sectors can meet their AML and compliance obligations.
We’d like to thank the Law Society for allowing Verify 365 to sponsor this year’s conference and thank everyone who attended both in person and virtually via the online portal, we look forward to building on the connections we’ve made.
