London, UK – Sikhs in Law, the largest legal network of Sikh professionals in the UK, is proud to announce its official launch event at the Supreme Court on 21 April 2023. The launch event will be sponsored and supported by Verify 365, a leading identity verification and AML compliance company for the legal sector.

Sikhs in Law was founded in 2020 with the aim of promoting, encouraging, empowering, and developing the legal profession and judiciary within the UK Sikh community. The organisation has since grown to become a vibrant network of professionals ranging from law enforcement to lawmakers.

“We are excited to launch Sikhs in Law and bring together a community of legal professionals dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession,” said Baldip Singh Aulak, founder of Sikhs in Law and Director of the Scholarship and Honours & Awards Committee. “Our goal is to create a supportive network that empowers Sikh professionals and ensures that our community’s voice is heard in the legal sector.”

The launch event will feature several prominent speakers, including Lord Leggatt, Justice of the Supreme Court, Mr Justice Saini High Court Judge, and Baldip Singh, Chairperson and Founder of Sikhs in Law, and other distinguished members of the legal profession.

“We are proud to sponsor and support Sikhs in Law and their mission to promote diversity and inclusion in the legal profession,” said Rudi Kesic, CEO at Verify 365. “At Verify 365, we believe that diversity is key to building a fair and equitable society, and we are excited to collaborate with Sikhs in Law to further their goals.”

As the legal landscape in the UK continues to evolve, organisations like Sikhs in Law will play a crucial role in promoting diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. According to a report by the Law Society of England and Wales, the legal sector in London employs over 70,000 people and contributes £25.7 billion to the UK economy. Despite this, the report highlights that there is still a lack of diversity within the sector, with only 7% of partners in the largest law firms coming from a black, Asian, or minority ethnic (BAME) background.

However, the legal sector is beginning to change, with new technologies and innovations set to shape the future of law. From artificial intelligence and blockchain to online dispute resolution, technology is transforming the way legal services are delivered, creating new opportunities for lawyers and law firms.

“Technology is transforming the legal sector, and organisations like Sikhs in Law have an important role to play in ensuring that the benefits of these innovations are accessible to all legal professionals, regardless of their background,” added Baldip. “Our network of professionals provides a supportive community for legal professionals to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and collaborate on new technologies and innovations.”

“By working together, legal professionals can help to shape the future of the legal sector and ensure that it remains innovative, dynamic, and diverse,” added Rudi. “Verify 365 are proud to be supporting this vibrant community of legal professionals, and we look forward to working with the members to promote technology, diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.”

“Joining Sikhs in Law is an excellent opportunity for legal professionals to be part of a supportive community that promotes inclusivity and diversity,” said Raminder Uberoi, Assistant Secretary of Sikhs in Law and Partner at Starck Uberoi Solicitors. “We encourage all legal professionals, especially from the Sikh community, to join us and help us shape the future of the legal profession in the UK.”

Sikhs in Law invites all legal professionals, including lawyers, judges, paralegals, law students, and law enforcement officers, to join their network and become part of the vibrant community.
