It was a pleasure attending the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s (SRA) Compliance Officers Conference which took place at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre. Verify 365’s account manager Ishika Roy, the business development team of Lee Burrows, Amit Khurana and Adam Church as well as the Verify 365 marketing team attended the event. The team were able to have some amazing conversations with industry leaders operating within the legal sector, connect with SRA figures as well as connect with conveyancers and solicitors.
The event was packed with insightful breakout sessions, inspirational panel discussions from industry leaders and the opportunity to network and connect with solicitors and innovators from across the legal sector.
The 2024 conference kicked off with a few notes from journalist and broadcaster Daisy McAndrew who then chaired a session with the SRA’s Chair Anna Bradley and Chief Executive Paul Phillip. The panel discussed a number of key topics, taking questions from a proactive audience keen to pick the brains of the industry figures.
Throughout the day, a series of breakout sessions were held by the SRA, covering a variety of important topics including AML, workplace culture, compliance queries, the role of AI, cybercrime and consumer protection. It was undoubtedly an event packed with valuable knowledge and we certainly have taken plenty away from what was very much a day of learning.
We also explored the SRA’s marketplace having important discussions with experts and businesses on the topics that matter. We spoke with a vast range of law firms as well as different sections of the SRA and other regulators like His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and crime fighters like the National Crime Agency (NCA).
In addition to this, we had the pleasure of listening to people’s stories and discussing their journeys and experiences. Building brand new connections and partnerships that we are very excited to build in the future. It was also a pleasure to see some familiar faces as some of our amazing clients were also at the event, catching up with them and maintaining strong relationships.
